We’re partnering with a high-growth, solutions-led facilities services business that delivers Electrical, Mechanical, Fire, Joinery, and Security services under one roof. With around 100 employees and an energetic, ambitious culture, this company has built a reputation for exceptional customer service and long-term client partnerships.
Following continued expansion and a roadmap for growth, they are now entering a new and exciting phase — targeting universities, NHS trusts, local councils, government frameworks, and private build-to-rent projects — and are looking for a Business Development Manager to take the lead in driving that growth.
This is a pure new business role – no account management, no legacy pipeline. You’ll be the one creating opportunities from scratch, mapping target markets, and building relationships that lead to meaningful contracts.
The Opportunity
- Develop and deliver a growth strategy to win contracts with universities, NHS organisations, councils, and government bodies.
- Build trusted relationships with estates directors, procurement teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Lead the end-to-end business development process – from initial contact and qualification through to bid, proposal, and negotiation.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure a seamless handover and strong delivery reputation.
- Report directly to the senior leadership team, shaping both the sales approach and wider commercial strategy.
About You
- Proven track record in selling M&E, FM, or technical service solutions, ideally into public sector or institutional clients.
- Confident and proactive – someone who enjoys the chase and thrives on winning new clients.
- Strong relationship-builder with credibility at senior level.
- Entrepreneurial and ambitious – ready to take ownership of a new business function and build a team around your success.
- Excellent communication and proposal-writing skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for meetings and networking events.
