Our manufacturing client, blends craftsmanship and innovation to create products loved by consumers worldwide. We’re looking for an ambitious industrial designer to join an innovative product design team in the leisure space, where creativity and functionality must go hand in hand.

 

The Role

As an Industrial Designer, you’ll be at the heart of product innovation, working closely with design, R&D, product development, sales, and global manufacturing teams. Your mission? To design eye-catching, user-focused products that push the boundaries of this category.

 

Your approach will start with deep user research and sketching, ideating solutions that address real challenges before progressing to CAD and prototyping. You’ll own projects from initial concept through to manufacture, applying your technical expertise and creative flair.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Observe users and markets to identify opportunities
  • Lead ideation and sketch early design concepts
  • Apply human-centered design principles to solve user challenges
  • Collaborate across UK and international teams, including travel as needed
  • Develop detailed CAD models and prototypes using industry-standard tools
  • Produce final specifications, costings, and manufacturing-ready designs
  • Test and validate concepts via physical and digital prototypes
  • Push creative boundaries and challenge conventional thinking
  • Use workshop resources like 3D printers to iterate designs
  • Research materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Product Design or Industrial Design
  • Minimum 4 years’ industrial/product design experience
  • Background ideally in kitchenware, FMCG, consumer products, or cycle design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative, user-focused design work
  • Expertise in sketching as a key part of your design process
  • Excellent CAD skills
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing methods and materials
  • Balance of technical knowledge and creative problem-solving
  • Hands-on, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills
