Industrial Product Designer – FMCG, Sports & Leisure - ESSEX -Office Based Monday to Friday
up to £55,000 pa Depending on Experience
We are recruiting an experienced Industrial Product Designer to join a leading manufacturer within the fmcg, sporting goods and leisure products sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, technically strong designer who enjoys taking products from concept through to manufacture. You will work as part of a collaborative product design, R&D and product development team, creating innovative, eye‑catching consumer products. This role involves full lifecycle design, including ideation, sketching, prototyping, CAD modelling, DFM, testing, and concept validation.
Requirements

Degree in Industrial Design or Product Design

5 years’ experience in industrial/product design

Strong portfolio showcasing creative, innovative design work -to be submitted with CV
-
Excellent CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and KeyShot rendering
-
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and DFM
-
Hands‑on approach with experience in prototyping and model making

Ability to challenge conventional thinking and solve complex design problems
Key Responsibilities

Generate new product concepts through observation, ideation and iterative design

Develop existing product ranges using strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing

Produce sketches, CAD models, prototypes and detailed specifications

Work closely with UK‑based designers and overseas teams

Present concepts to senior stakeholders and deliver final design solutions

Use workshop tools (including 3D printers) to test and validate ideas
