Senior Buyer – FMCG - Based Between Braintree & Colchester, Essex
Up to £45,000 + Bonus | Hybrid Working (2 days WFH)
We’re working with a long-established FMCG manufacturer and distributor known for its friendly, supportive culture to hire a Senior Buyer. Our client supplies major UK retail and wholesale channels and is now looking for a Senior Buyer to join their growing purchasing team.
Role Overview
As Senior Buyer, you’ll source raw materials and packaging, build supplier relationships, negotiate contracts (including hedging strategies), and support the Purchasing Manager in developing the buying function. This is a varied buying role working closely with Supply Chain, Technical, Quality and NPD.
Key Responsibilities
- Source raw materials & packaging
- Develop strong supplier partnerships
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts
- Manage purchasing admin and call-offs
- Support NPD and cross-functional projects
- Help drive continuous improvement
About You
- Buying/procurement experience (ideally FMCG/Sport/Grocery)
- Strong negotiation & supplier management skills
- Confident interpreting data & using procurement systems
- Collaborative and adaptable
- Able to manage multiple priorities
- Willing to travel when required
